Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to nhscreative.org

This website is run by NHS Creative. We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible so that it can be understood by all.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below. (Note: these are the main areas of non-compliance.)

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • The visual presentation of text and images of text does not always have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1. This fails WCAG success criterion 1.4.3 (contrast (minimum).
  • Form controls are not labeled which could have an impact on those using screen readers.

The website also has an accessibility toolbar that allows for all text to be turned to white text on a black background. The toolbar is found in the top right of every page.

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall accessibility. In the meantime, should you experience any difficulty in accessing this website, please don’t hesitate to Contact us.
